Every sewist has faced that moment: staring at a piece of fabric and thinking, what on earth will I do with this? This year, our Chapter decided to lean into the challenge! Now we need YOUR help choosing a “community choice” winner.
Every participant received a little over a yard and a half of this vintage, bold, floral print that is not considered conventionally pretty (some members disagreed). The goal? Transform this so-called “Ugly Fabric” into something clever, useful or even beautiful. And wow – our members delivered! Check out their creative submissions and vote on the poll below with your favorite!
Project A – Cottage Core Corset

Project B – Dresses for Dress A Girl Around The World
Project C – Blouse and Bottle Openers

Project D – Two Girls Dresses
Project E – Camp Top With Matching Hat
Project F – Flowy Color Block Top
Project G – Rope Bowl
Project H – Drapes / Curtains

Project I – Sewing Room Accessories

Now it’s your turn to be involved! Cast a vote for your favorite creation below and the winner will receive a prize at our next meeting.

I was between the corset the camp shirt/hat and the basket…..the basket I thought was executed beautifully!
I loved the corset, camp shirt, and beautiful women’s blouse. I chose the women’s blouse, based on its use of scraps of fabric into a handkerchief hem women’s t shirt tunic
Stunning garment creation
The Sewing Accessories were creative and cute.
All of the entries were very creative. The Sewing Accessories were my favorite choice.
